Half day at work today! I like these kind of days. Though I would rather only work 5 8 hour days a week rather than
4 8 hour and 2 4 hour days. >__< Oh well. I will take what I can get! ^__^ After I got off work at 1pm about an hour ago now, I met my mom at Good Times which is a Colorado fast food burger joint. It is really good! We came home and now my mother has taken my little dog Lizie to the vet to get some more shots. Poor thing! 2 weeks ago she went to the vet and had some shots and she had an allergic reaction to on of the 3 they gave her and her face looked like it was boiling. She was having a terrible allergic reaction and my mom and dad rushed her to the emergency vet which is open later hours than our normal neighborhood vet. They gave her yet another shot and told my parents that this only happens in 1 in 1000 dogs. Poor Lizie!!! She now has to have a benedryl shot before she goes to get any of her other health shots since they are not sure which one it was that made my baby swell up like that! >__<I have been packing a few things in boxes the past few days to slowly take over to my new home with my room mate Jessica next week. I plan on moving my furniture in on April 5th which is a Saturday and I guess that means I will have to spend the night there and will be my first day in my new home! How exciting huh? I will have to take pics of the new place and post them here soon. Jessica is out of town this week so I cannot move my things in there until next week when she is home. My mom has been kind too and has picked me up a few essential things that I will need like laundry powder, wash rags and towels, kleenex, and other bathroom or cleaning items. :-)
Jordin Sparks is not a new artist on the scene, but I recently heard a song by her and another artist named Chris Brown called "No Air" and I really like it. I did not know until recently that Jordin Sparks was only about 18 and was a winner of the show American Idol until I heard that on the radio as well. She has such a mature and strong voice. I really thought she was like 25. She looks older than 18 to me. I heard her song "Tattoo" a couple months ago and liked that one. I did not know that is was she who sung in the song "No Air" until I looked up the artists. Funny...... this song has just come on on my playlist now on the computer. Hee Hee. I have also been playing the song "I Don't Want to be in Love" by Good Charlotte too. ;-)
As for movies now. My mother and I watched "Enchanted" on Sunday and it was cute. I give it a B+. Prince Edward is so funny. The actor James Marsden plays his character and his performance kind of reminded me of the actor Cary Elwes. Cary has been in such movies as The Princess Bride, Glory and Robin Hood Men in Tights. All good movies. Maybe it is the hair? What do you think??? This photo of Cary Elwes as Westley from The Princess Bride Movie is from 1987. He was a hunk in his day. I've seen pics of him now and let me just say that people do grow older..... :-( James Marsden is newer on the scene, but like I said in my last post, he has never really taken off as an actor. He does play a good part in Enchanted though which is where all this began! :-)
Today was a nice day at work or should I say "banker school". Is it harsh to say I like the people in this class better than in my "teller school" class a couple of weeks ago? There was this obnoxious guy in teller school. He thought he was so cool that he knew a lot of the info already and during games and activities, he just had this annoying aura and demeanor about him that made me want to go up and slap him! No one like this in "banker school" this time thank goodness. I like my trainer Amanda better than my last trainer too. I mean they are both nice people, but Amanda is just a better teacher in my opinion. ^___^
Now back to the news of my future new home and room mate. YES, I am going to be moving in in a couple weeks! My new room mate/ land lady's name is Jessica and she is a 25 year old 2nd grade teacher. The condo is really nice and clean. It has 3 rooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, washer and dryer, gas fireplace and all the normal stuff too like a kitchen and dining room etc. Jessica has a dog too named Logan who is a black lab. He is 1 1/2 years old and very friendly. My room is painted a light golden yellow. It seems to be about the same size as my room now. It seems longer as to my room now seems wider. It has one big window and a spacious closet! Dream! :-) Jessica and I met at a Starbucks on Wednesday evening. After we chatted for a little while, I followed her home in our cars to the condo and she gave me a nice tour. It is still only about 5 minutes from my work. 10 minutes from here at home. :-) I think I am really going to like it. Jessica is a really nice lady and I
I plan on watching the movie "Enchanted" soon. My father got it in our Netflix today and it looks really good. Everyone who I talked to who has seen it said they enjoyed it. I think James Marsden, the prince, in the movie is a really funny guy. He is not such a well know actor, but I have seen him in several films. The only one I can recall right now is "Sugar & Spice" which is about the teenage cheerleader bank robbers that came out when I was in high school. Like a freshman in high school. Seems so long ago now??? >__<
My mother called me at 8:40 this morning to tell me something interesting. She was looking through a website associated with her job at a high school called "employee marketplace." District employees can post things they are selling, looking for etc and my mother had called to tell me that someone on there had posted an ad that she was looking for a room mate! My mother gave me the phone number and I called and briefly spoke to Jessica. That is her name. She is an elementary school teacher and has a room in a condo REALLY close to where I work and live now. It sounds perfect for only $600 a month including utilities like water, internet etc. I am not sure how old Jessica is, but I think she is pretty young. I am almost 80% positive! ^__~ I don't think she could really speak at the time I called her at 8:45 am so I left her my number and asked if she could call me after 6:30pm after I got off work and she did around 7pm. We talked a little bit. She described the room and bathroom a little and then we got off to talking about our jobs, her old room mate and then got to the point on scheduling a meet at a Starbucks really close to us both. I am to meet her there at 7pm Wednesday evening. That will give me plenty of time to drive home from work. I have to drive to another part of town the next 4 days for my "banker" training from 8am to 5pm and 5pm is when "rush hour" traffic begins, so I know I will be stuck in traffic for a while. I might also have time to go home for a while too??? Well anyways I am very excited! Not only did this happen today, but my federal tax return check came in the mail as well. Yay! My state tax return came last week and that is what I used to open my savings account with. I plan on depositing my new check in there too. I have to get up early tomorrow! Ew! I have my alarm set for 6:30am. I plan on leaving for training about 7:05 or 7:10 to get there a little before 8am when it starts. I am feeling a bit better with the "teller" part of my job now. Last week was my first week on the teller line and it scared me at first, but since I already have had previous teller experience, it was not so bad! ^___^ I will keep you up to date on my meeting with Jessica this Wednesday and maybe I will be able to say that I am "moving". :-)
I am happy these past six days of work are done. When I saw the schedule and saw that I was working the next 6 days in a row, I was shocked! X___X I thought I could not do it, but I did and it was not so bad. Off tomorrow and then back to work at the branch again on Monday and then Tuesday through Friday I have "banker school" training. I received my first pay for this job yesterday. Yay! I had it direct deposited into my account there. I also opened my savings account this week. I feel like I got a lot of work done.
After work today I went to the bookstore and bought a movie called LoveCom. It is based off a manga I really like. I plan on watching it tonight after a nice bath. I was looking for a manga called Punch volume 3 there too. They had a copy but some jerk had just shoved it back in the shelf and the cover was all bent and ripped! >__< I am not paying $9 for a messed up book. I didn't feel like driving to the other bookstore so I just decided I would wait and go another time to get it.
Easter is next weekend. I know I am 21 1/2 years old, but I still miss getting an Easter basket. Waking up and having it sitting outside my bedroom door filled with toys and treats. I really miss decorating Easter eggs too. :-( I should probably get my Easter cards in the mail to my grandparents soon???
I got a Nintendo DS Lite this past Christmas and I have not been playing it much lately. I plan on getting it out
Today was just a simple but pleasant day. Nothing special, but good anyways. Know what I mean? I had a short day at work today. My day always starts out with work, so it is that I start all my entries with work jabber! >__< It was short though. Only 4 hours. I work 6 days this week so two days of the week are only 4 hour days. I went to the branch at 9am and stayed there doing "banker" training on the computer and then at 10:15 left to another branch in another part of town for a 2 hour customer service class. I thought it was going to be the same ol' "teamwork" kind of jazz you have crammed down your throat at every job anyone ever has, but this class was more than just "customer service". I got a lot of helpful info. Simple stuff like how to react to irate customers without losing your cool and how to politely speak during telephone conversations with customers and potential customers. The class was not boring and I felt very satisfied with it. This class ended at 1pm and I had the rest of the day to myself.
Today I was very productive. I did some laundry, filled my car with window washer fluid, vacuumed my room and thoroughly dusted it. (Yuck, I mean yuck!) X____X I took out some trash from the bathroom I share with my "messy" brother and trash from my room as well. I also enjoyed reading my new "Shojo Beat" magazine. It is a "manga" magazine of Japanese comics and other fun cultural stuff. I took a short but sweet bath and also visited my sister a little bit with my mother. My mom and I drove to her house not too far away and I just visited while they gossiped about cupcakes and cake decorating. I read the magazine I described while sitting next to the back door and listening to the serene sounds of nature. The crickets chirping and the wind rustling in the trees and bushes. Do I sound at peace? I had a nice relaxing, productive, and half work kind of day. Love days like this! <3
Today I went to go see the movie "Penelope" in theaters. I really liked it! It was cute, clean, a different kind of story, and had some good actors/actresses in it like Christina Ricci, James McAvoy, and Reese Witherspoon. I went to see it with my sister. We went to the 12:40pm showing but before that we had lunch at Red Robin. We each had a malt and shared some nachos and french fries with ranch dip. Yum! We then went and looked around at the bookstore Borders before walking over the the theater. All three of these places are in the mall area so we just walked to each of them. We had a lot of fun. We had some good conversations and enjoyed each others company. :-)
Training was alright last week. I went to another part of the city to "train" for the teller part of my job. In another couple weeks I will go again to do some "banker" training. The part of town I had to go to for the training lets just say was a "bad" part of town. I felt really uncomfortable driving down there. There were a lot of "adult" stores everywhere, trashy hotels, run down stores, closed Walgreens and Burger Kings, and "hooker" alley! X___X. I am a little shocked that they would have the training in such a terrible part of the city. I always made sure to lock my doors driving down the street to get back to the main highway and then HOME! Phew!

4 People I Tag
I would love to tag 4 people, but I do not have 4 friends here on Vox. >__< Tis fun though to do these and read other peoples here on Vox.
I think that I have been blogging about work a lot lately. I read my last post over to myself and I decided it could be kind of boring if you do not know some things about banking. >__< I will just say that tomorrow through Friday I have "teller school" at a place in another city. According to my mapquest search it should take me about 30 minutes to get there, but I have to drive there in rush hour traffic so it may take up to an hour so I plan to leave really early tomorrow morning. Plus I am not completely sure where it is??? Never been there before. >__<
Looking forward to another movie that has come out. It is called "Penelope" with Christina Ricci and Reese Witherspoon in it. It is about a girl named Penelope (Christina Ricci) who has a nose like a pig which was put upon her by a terrible spell and the only way for her to get a "normal" nose is for someone (true love) to accept her for who she is with the pig nose. The film takes place in present times. It sounds a little "weird" but it looks totally cute and funny! Still have not seen "The Other Boleyn Girl" yet, but I plan too. ^___~
I bought the new "Sims2" expansion pack "FreeTime" this past Saturday. I played it for like 8 hours that day and the same on Sunday. It is SOOOOO fun. I <3 the Sims! You can give your little "sims" hobbies. They each come with a natural hobby like sports, nature, music or dance, arts and crafts etc and you can get your sims enthused about other things too by having them participate a lot in the activity like cooking. If your sim likes cooking than you can have him/her enter baking contests and more. My sim who I named "Patricia" is a criminal investigator (job) with a hobby for music and dance. She also enjoys cooking and playing video games, chess or darts. She receives the music and dance magazine in her mail and has 4 boyfriends. >__< What a sleeze Patricia is! LOL. ^__~ It is fun to make yours sim totally successful or trashy. Both, in my Patricia's case. Hee Hee.
