I finally have the whole weekend off! Well I did! What is left of it anyways.... :-( It was a nice weekend though. Again I am at my parents house using their computer. I finally got my wireless card today so I can have the internet at home with my rommate Jessica who I am not sure has bought the wireless box on her part. I know she will. She is very nice and reliable. Maybe I will just gently remind her tonight??? ^__~ I started reading "Bridget Jones's Diary" today by the author Helen Fielding. Very good so far. I have only read one chapter so far but I am really into it. Any girl can relate to the character Bridget you know. ;-) I plan on reading some more in a while outside on my parents patio sipping a drink and enjoying the beautiful spring-like weather we are finally having now. I mean it was snowing hard here on May 1st! It was cold on Friday May 2nd too. I better enjoy this weather. Colorado is so weird sometimes. O__o
Yesterday was a fun Saturday. Like I said it was one of the 1st Saturdays I have had off in about a month. I went and did a little shopping. I first went to the bookstore and looked around a while but did not buy anything. I next went to the mall and went to Victoria's Secret and looked at all their lotions and perfumes which were on sale. They were like 6 items for $30 or 3 items for $24 so I bought 5 items in the scent "Romantic Wish" which smells a little like watermelon to me and then a bottle of their new "Dewy Peach" lotion for my sister who is notorious for liking anything related to peaches. ^__~ I took a bath last night and tried out all my new stuff. The body wash, body scrub, lotion, and body mist all in the same scent! I felt like royalty. I then watched the movie "Meet the Fockers" with Jessica and then got sleepy and went to bed at about 10:30. I listened to my ipod a little before actually falling asleep at like midnight. We were both babysitting one of her friends huge lab dog last night along with her lab too. They were barking and making a lot of noise so it was hard to fall asleep a little. I do not know how Jessica did it because both of the huge male dogs were in her room!!!!! O___o I woke up at 9am sharp today and starting reading my book and went to look around in the store Kohls. I am now at my parents home! Phew! That seemed like a lot to type up! Hee Hee.
I am listening to the song "All I Want is to Feel This Way" by "Toad the Wet Sprocket" now. It is a ood song, but the band or whatever's name is really well "weird". The song is from the mid 90's or so. A really good song. Here, I will insert it so you can hear it too! I plan on having another Bridget Jones movie trilogy marathon tonight. I am going to have lunch here at my parents and hang out for a while and then head back home with is only a 6 minute drive from here. :-) Work tomorrow! :-( Oh well. I will try not to think of it now. It is only 1:40pm so I still have half a day of play still! :-)
It has been a long time since I last wrote! I knew it would be too. I moved in with my new roommate Jessica on April 5th and I have not had the internet in my room to be able to write. She kindly made an account for me on her computer until I got my computer over there which I did last weekend after buying a new smaller desk from target.com and until I buy a wireless card and her a wireless box which we both need to do still. ^__^ We agreed we would each buy our wireless items this coming pay period next week. She made an account for me on her computer like I said, but I just thought it would be curtious to just use the account to check my bank account and email. I did not want to hog her personal computer to write here or surf the internet. I am actually home here at my parents house now and writing this on their computer. Heeee! :-) Things have been going good these past few weeks. I am all settled in in my new place. Jessica is very sweet. We watch American Idol together every Tuesday and Wednesday and we have also watched a few movies together. We watched Alvin and the Chipmunks which I thought was cute!!! We also watched No Reservations with Catherine Zeta Jones in it which I thought was pretty good. My sister Jen has also got me hooked on the Bridget Jones trilogy with Renee Zellwegar, Colin Firth and Hugh Grant! VERY good movies! Funny and witty! My sister also loaned me the first Bridget Jones's Diary book but sheepishly I write that I have not read it yet! I WILL VERY SOON! >__< I know I have said I like Ioan Gruffudd but I think after watching Bridget Jones, that I am starting to think Colin Firth is a very handsome man!!! I think I have a thing for tall guys with brown wavy/curly hair and also brown eyes! :-) Mmmmmmm yum! Work has been a little stressful lately! I finally graduated from banker/teller school yesterday. I had my last 4 days of banker training this past week. I will miss all my buddies from these classes. There was a lot of really nice people there. Many of my best buddies are from different districts but I know if I needed to I could find a way to get a hold of them to just say hey or something. ;-) I have finally been opening accounts the past couple of weeks too. I have opened about 10 checking accounts, maybe 4 savings, 1 trust (was hell to open), and 2 Reserve Lines (overdraft protection). I am getting quite a bit of experience but there is still so much to learn! So much information to learn and then given to me all at once. I cannot process it all. AHH! We did have a couple "bankers" with some experience come and speak one day this week during banker school and they said it took them up to 6 months to feel comfortable and knowledgable with their new jobs. I agree. It will take me about that long too. "It has only been 2 months now Tracy so do not get too stressed!!!!" ^___~ As I said before, once I get my internet up and running at my place, I will take some pictures of my new room and stuff to post here on my blog. <3
Today was a nice day at work or should I say "banker school". Is it harsh to say I like the people in this class better than in my "teller school" class a couple of weeks ago? There was this obnoxious guy in teller school. He thought he was so cool that he knew a lot of the info already and during games and activities, he just had this annoying aura and demeanor about him that made me want to go up and slap him! No one like this in "banker school" this time thank goodness. I like my trainer Amanda better than my last trainer too. I mean they are both nice people, but Amanda is just a better teacher in my opinion. ^___^
Now back to the news of my future new home and room mate. YES, I am going to be moving in in a couple weeks! My new room mate/ land lady's name is Jessica and she is a 25 year old 2nd grade teacher. The condo is really nice and clean. It has 3 rooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, washer and dryer, gas fireplace and all the normal stuff too like a kitchen and dining room etc. Jessica has a dog too named Logan who is a black lab. He is 1 1/2 years old and very friendly. My room is painted a light golden yellow. It seems to be about the same size as my room now. It seems longer as to my room now seems wider. It has one big window and a spacious closet! Dream! :-) Jessica and I met at a Starbucks on Wednesday evening. After we chatted for a little while, I followed her home in our cars to the condo and she gave me a nice tour. It is still only about 5 minutes from my work. 10 minutes from here at home. :-) I think I am really going to like it. Jessica is a really nice lady and I
I plan on watching the movie "Enchanted" soon. My father got it in our Netflix today and it looks really good. Everyone who I talked to who has seen it said they enjoyed it. I think James Marsden, the prince, in the movie is a really funny guy. He is not such a well know actor, but I have seen him in several films. The only one I can recall right now is "Sugar & Spice" which is about the teenage cheerleader bank robbers that came out when I was in high school. Like a freshman in high school. Seems so long ago now??? >__<
I think that I have been blogging about work a lot lately. I read my last post over to myself and I decided it could be kind of boring if you do not know some things about banking. >__< I will just say that tomorrow through Friday I have "teller school" at a place in another city. According to my mapquest search it should take me about 30 minutes to get there, but I have to drive there in rush hour traffic so it may take up to an hour so I plan to leave really early tomorrow morning. Plus I am not completely sure where it is??? Never been there before. >__<
Looking forward to another movie that has come out. It is called "Penelope" with Christina Ricci and Reese Witherspoon in it. It is about a girl named Penelope (Christina Ricci) who has a nose like a pig which was put upon her by a terrible spell and the only way for her to get a "normal" nose is for someone (true love) to accept her for who she is with the pig nose. The film takes place in present times. It sounds a little "weird" but it looks totally cute and funny! Still have not seen "The Other Boleyn Girl" yet, but I plan too. ^___~
I bought the new "Sims2" expansion pack "FreeTime" this past Saturday. I played it for like 8 hours that day and the same on Sunday. It is SOOOOO fun. I <3 the Sims! You can give your little "sims" hobbies. They each come with a natural hobby like sports, nature, music or dance, arts and crafts etc and you can get your sims enthused about other things too by having them participate a lot in the activity like cooking. If your sim likes cooking than you can have him/her enter baking contests and more. My sim who I named "Patricia" is a criminal investigator (job) with a hobby for music and dance. She also enjoys cooking and playing video games, chess or darts. She receives the music and dance magazine in her mail and has 4 boyfriends. >__< What a sleeze Patricia is! LOL. ^__~ It is fun to make yours sim totally successful or trashy. Both, in my Patricia's case. Hee Hee.
Good news! I found out that the movie I was talking about in my previous post "The Other Boleyn Girl" comes out
this coming Friday, February 29th! So excited! I like these kind of historical movies with the great costumes the actors/actresses get to wear. I really like those big, colorful, and elaborate dresses of the era. I bet they were a real pain to wear though! I read somewhere a while ago that the ladies of the southern plantations dresses around the Civil War could weigh up to 25 pounds! Yikes! As to music. I really like this song called "Cyclone" by Baby Bash. It has a catchy beat to it and makes you want to get up and dance! My friend Crystal told me about this video/song she found on Youtube of "Cyclone" which sounds like the chipmunks are singing it. I like the chipmunks and "Cyclone" so I looked it up and listened to it. It is so funny! You can obviously tweak a song on your computer to make it sound like the chipmunks real easily, but I thought it sounded so funny just listening to it anyways. :-) Here is the video. It is more funny if you have heard the original song too by Baby Bash. ^__~
Tomorrow is my last day at my part time job! :-) :-( I work from 7:30am - 2:30pm. My co-workers then have a meeting at 6:30pm after they close and then I am going to meet everyone at a bar/restaurant near the bank for dinner and fun. I will really miss them. As I said before though, I am looking forward to my new job too. I am going to orientation for it this Monday at 8am. Afterward I am going to drive back to the branch and speak with Stefany, my new branch manager, and fill out some paperwork. Change isn't always good, but things have changed a lot for me lately and they all have been definately good changes. :-)
It is really hard to title your first entry. What do you call it? "My First Entry?" Just kidding... I will take this time to talk about who I am and what I like, what I hope for and some things I dislike. First of all I am so happy to say that I finally have a full-time job which I have been looking for since this past November. My new job is at another bank where I will be a "Universal Banker". It is a title which means I will be mainly responsible for opening accounts and going out into the world to bring back more accounts to our bank. I may be working on the teller line every now and then but the account openings are going to be my main concern and duty. I am currently working my last two weeks at my current job which is at another bank. I am/was only a part time employee there and desperately needed full time employment. Not only for more hours but for the benefits as well. I am 21 and my insurance runs out this August when I turn 22 under my parents, and it is so important to have health, dental, vision insurance etc. I will receive all that when I start work at my new job at the new bank. I hope to start "training" this Monday for it. The branch will also only be 1 mile from my home instead of the 13 miles to my old part time job. :-) That will be nice. I will not have to be scared driving to work in the snow too much anymore and not to mention what I will save on gas! My last day at my part time job is this Saturday. I am excited about starting a a new job but also sad to leave my old one. All my co-workers are wonderful people and we were a great team. I hope to stay in touch with some of them after I leave.
One of my co-workers/managers named Crystal and I hung out for a short while this past Saturday. We went to get
This past Christmas I received my first ipod from my parents. I have been listening to it like crazy the past few weeks. I put a bunch of music on it like songs by Blue October, Trisha Yearwood, Fergie, Chris Brown, Belinda Carlisle, Rihanna, Linkin Park etc to name a few on a wide variety. I have been playing the song "The Calling" by Blue October over and over again. I don't think it is extremely popular (could be wrong) but I really do love this song! I also saw an old movie from about 1997 I think on TV several days ago that I had forgotten all about. I remembered liking it and it is called Romy and Michele's High School Reunion. I cought the last 45 minutes of the movie and the next day I went out and bought it for about $12 on DVD and have watched it several times since then. I also have been really enjoying the movies Stardust and Amazing Grace. Amazing Grace stars one of my favorite actors Ioan Gruffudd. Not only is he a good actor, but he is incredibly dreamy! I first saw him in the A&E series Horatio Hornblower where he plays an 18th century British navy/sailor. You may also have seen him in the movie Fantastic 4 and as Lancelot in King Arthur. My other favorite actors include Hugh Jackman and Eric Bana. Ok, I'll throw in my favorite actresses too; Renee Zellwegar, Anne Hathaway and Nicole Kidman.
So I just spilled on my favorite music and movies. I could talk about these two things for a long while but I was forced to stop myself. I like some books too and are excited to say that I actually have read one book before they decided to turn it into a movie. It is called "The Other Boleyn Girl" by Philippa Gregory. The movie based from this book should be coming to theaters soon and is going to star Eric Bana (Yay!), Scarlet Johansen and Natalie Portman. It should be really good. I have not seen it obviously yet, but think they have chosen good actresses/actors to portray the characters in the historical, lusty, and extremely good book! Will deffinately be going to see this film.
So now I have officially written my first entry here on Vox. I just thought of my title for this entry and already typed it in. It is kind of silly but so is my personality................. ^__~
